Arcade - Arcade Cabinets - Atari - Space Duel
Space DuelMisc. Information
Cabinet measurements provided by: [email protected] Has a cabinet been cut from drawings: No Construction type: 3 sheets of 3/4" Melamine or Particle board w/ vinyl 1 sheet of 3/4" Plywood for base, monitor support structure, and blocking Estimate Cabinet Accuracy 85% (I feel the cabinet accuracy should be very good... but it was measured over a few days and something may have been missed. I will update once I cut a Quantum from these plans) What does Cabinet Accuracy mean? Areas of variation: Blocking - While nearly all of the blocking is identical to the original, a few areas of variation exist. 1. The first area of variation is by the marquee. The internal structure behind the marquee light was measured and estimated (no impact on overall cabinet assembly). This was done due to me not wanting the donor cabinet destroyed. This has no impact on the cabinet assembly or mounting. 2. The blocking for the front panel (where the coin door is), was increased to 2" over the standard blocking (the bottom was 2" from the factory). |

Files to Print
The below files are PDF documents of the plans that are printed to scale. These documents can be taken to your local print shop and printed on 36" wide media. The prints can then be applied to the wood and used as a template to cut the side panels of the cabinet. I have only included the side panels and any other panels that may be more difficult to cut.

Drawing specific notes
More to follow once the cabinet is cut... but the placement of the "Key" seem critical. All other internal structure is based upon this placement. If the key is off, it may be very difficult to get everything else to line up.
NOTE: While the externals of the cabinet are identical to Black Widow and Gravitar, the monitor mounting is significantly different. Space Duel uses a shelf while Black Widow and Gravitar use a monitor frame.
